Escaping Atheism

Honestly, I've verged on atheism several times, but looking through he evidence and the complexity of nature, there has to be a God.

We all take leaps of faith, even the atheist when they say there is no God.

I've come to believe Jesus is Lord, He is God in flesh and rose from the dead, but I still have doubts periodically, but at this point I reason, if there is no God, my life is ultimately meaningless. It doesn't matter if I was an atheist or a Muslim in the end.

I then, under the framework of atheism, where we fashion our own meaning for our lives in a meaningless universe, choose to live with the philosophy I agree with and I agree with Christ's philosophy.

Love God with all of your heart.

(Still working with the assumption, if atheism were true)

Think of the highest morality that is as perfect as you can get and don't compromise on it. This produces virtue and character for a real progress of change.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

See something from someone else's perspective, don't think only of you, imagine you as them and how you want to be treated and then do it. Society flourishes with such a mentality.

Love your enemies.

You could have been your enemy. What led to this course of life for them? Either you change them with love or you become them by returning hate. This fosters compassion and empathy for the offender and stops the cycle of violence .

If atheism were true for sake of argument, Christ has the ideal I agree with and so why not follow it? I'm gonna die anyway and it's as pointless to follow Him as it were Buddha.

So if atheism were true, I would gamble for the possibility of Christ being true, as I lose nothing if atheism were wrong. I don't care to take a gamble on anyone else and would just accept the consequences if I were wrong as I have been captivated by the Person of Christ.

So why not gamble on the Person (the Lord Jesus Christ) I think has the best hope for humanity if we follow His advice?

I've successfully come to terms with my doubts and at peace.

"What if you're wrong?"

And?.
